
Chilly paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish made either dry, semi-dry, or in gravy by seasoning fried Indian cottage cheese in a sweet and sour chilly sauce. It can be served with fried rice, hakka noodles, or as an appetizer.

Ingredients
For the Paneer
1 cup Paneer cubed
2 tbsps corn starch
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp water
oil for frying
For the Sauce
2 tbsps oil 1 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp red chilli sauce
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp corn starch with 1 tbsp water
salt to taste
Steps:
1. In a bowl mix together cornflour, red chilli powder, add cubed paneer and coat it well, add a teaspoon of water to make it come together.

2. In a wok or deep pan, heat oil for frying and fry the paneer until its golden brown.

3. To make the sauce, add oil to a pan and add ginger and garlic paste. Cook until the ginger garlic paste is lightly browned and add onions. Cook for 2 minutes and add the the pepper. Cook for another minute and make sure not to overcook the veggies to keep them crisp.

4. Set the veggies aside for later.
5. In the same pan, add chilly sauce, soy sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for one minute. Add salt to taste if desired.

5. Add the 1/2 cup of water and cook until it reaches a simmer.
6. Lastly, add the corn starch mixture and cook for 1 -2 minutes or until the sauce thickens to coat the back of a spoon.
7. Add in the fried paneer and veggies. Stir to combine everything.
8. Sprinkle chopped spring onions for garnish and serve!
